 PASADO SIMPLE

we refer in something in that moment

I called my friend at 9:00 pm 

¿Ellos comieron pizza?  = Did they eat pizza?

PAST CONTINOUS TENSE  /  PAST PROGRESSIVE

Todos los verbos continuos llevan el VERB TO BE. Ademas cuando es pregunta llevan VERB TO BE

¿Ellos estaban comiendo pizza? = Were they comiendo pizza?

Past Progressive (continuous)-
Subject + was/were + verb+ing + complement

EXAMPLE: I was working all day yesterday

I was cleaning


EXAMPLE:I was washing the car when he dirtied everythinG

But we can change stated with past +when was/were -ing

The lights turned off when we were cleaning the house

PAST PROGRESSIVE AND 2 ACTIONS AT THE SAME TIME

Subject + was/were + verb+ing + while + subject + was/were + verb+ing + complement

 EXAMPLE: I was taking a shower while you were eating breakfast

NEGATIVE

In the case of negative one part or the two parts of the sentence can be negative

I wasn"t doing my homework when the teacher was arriving to the class
